The Fort White Indians will square off against the Lafayette Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort White is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Fort White is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Dixie County, falling 16-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Lafayette entered their tilt with Branford on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Not much got past Hyatt Richardson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Branford off the board. That's the most strikeouts Richardson has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Trevor Mares was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Murphy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort White, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
