Basketball Recap: Alejandro Arenas Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Springstead lost to Central back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Springstead Eagles blew past the Central Bears 54-34. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springstead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alejandro Arenas, who posted six points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Arenas a new career-high. Zion McKenzie was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Springstead was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only racked up six assists.

Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavior Haegele, who put up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noel Torres, who had six points.

Springstead's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Springstead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-38 victory against Citrus on the 17th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-53 win against Weeki Wachee on the 14th.
