The Decatur Seahawks put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Arcadia 74-53. Considering Decatur has won four matches by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Careen Bolden, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Bolden scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brycen Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 22 rebounds.
Several Firebirds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryheim Pettit, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Pettit's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of RonRico Bugg, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Arcadia were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Decatur only pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Decatur's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Decatur and Smyrna will round out the year against one another at 6:45 p.m. on December 27th at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Smyrna is ranked 18th in Delaware, while Decatur is ranked 28th in Maryland). As for Arcadia, they will square off against Tournament Opponent at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
