After a string of three wins, the Galena Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 64-43 defeat at the hands of School of the Ozarks. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Galena struggled afterwards.
School of the Ozarks was led to victory by Caleb Widner and Graham Wilhoit. Widner scored 20 points along with three steals, while Wilhoit dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wilhoit scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Shadrach Thompson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Galena now has a losing record at 8-9. As for School of the Ozarks, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Galena's road trip will continue as they head out to face Clever at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Clever is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for School of the Ozarks, they will play host again and welcome Bradleyville, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradleyville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 535th, while School of the Ozarks is ranked 249th).
