LEAGUE CITY, Texas -
Clear Springs (League City, Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Zach Cripps threw a touchdown with with 10:00 remaining in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Dickinson (Texas) 53-42.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Cripps in the second quarter, the Chargers led 43-21 at the half.
Clear Springs expanded its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. CS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Cripps to
Matt Wymyczak.
The League City school's most effective player was Cripps. He threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Tyler Swart made a difference for the Gators. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 43-40 win for the Chargers.
Clear Springs (7-2) will play a 5A Region III District 24 game against Clear Creek next week, while Dickinson (1-8) will take on Clear Lake also in a 5A Region III District 24 game.
