The Saugatuck Trailblazers lost against the Schoolcraft Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Saugatuck suffered a rough 41-21 defeat at the hands of Schoolcraft. Saugatuck was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
When it comes to explaining why Saugatuck lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cass Stanberry. Despite the final result, he rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Stanberry's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Saugatuck and nudges their season record down to 7-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.5 points per game. As for Schoolcraft, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Saugatuck will stay at home for another week and welcome Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Schoolcraft, they will head out on the road to face off against Lawton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
