The Firebaugh Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 72-49 loss courtesy of Woodrow Wilson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Firebaugh has scored all season.
Woodrow Wilson was led to victory by Airus Allen and Nathaniel Parris. Allen scored 14 points along with four steals, while Parris scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Allen's third in a row with at least ten points. Alvarez Smith was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Firebaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Woodrow Wilson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firebaugh won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gahr at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. Jordan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Woodrow Wilson likes a good challenge.
