The Huntingdon Bearcats will head out on the road to square off against the Mount Union Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Huntingdon will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Central, who they had gone 1-7-1 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bearcats came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 14-11 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Bearcats brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Huntingdon got a massive performance out of Brock Bryson, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Bryson a new career-high. Matthew Gutshall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Bryson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Huntingdon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mount Union waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Georgie Bilger was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Abe Weirich, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Mount Union's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Huntingdon, their record is now 6-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Huntingdon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mount Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Huntingdon skirted past Mount Union 12-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
