After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bowie, the Mountain View Lobos were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Riverside a 2-0 shutout. Mountain View's winning goal came courtesy of Andrea Quintana.
Something new happened on Tuesday as Gemma Limon saw her first action of the season, playing 80 minutes against Riverside. Limon made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Austin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Austin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Riverside, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Fabens at 6:00 p.m. Riverside is facing Fabens at the right time seeing as Fabens is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
