Volleyball Recap: Chico Wins Going Away Against Grant

Chico won the last time they faced Grant and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers blew past the Pacers 3-0. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-15.

Chico's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Young led the charge by getting six aces and three digs. Those six aces gave Young a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyla Taylor, who had six aces and six assists.

They weren't the only good server: Chico was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 29 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Chico is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Grant, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Chico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Calexico on the 12th. As for Grant, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Foothill on the 11th.
