The McGavock Raiders will take on the Cane Ridge Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McGavock has three straight wins, Cane Ridge has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Thursday, McGavock made easy work of Glencliff and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: McGavock took every set by at least 20 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-4, 25-3.

McGavock can attribute much of their success to Evelin Caloca, who had ten digs, and Cailyn Ekberg, who hit 81.8% for nine kills and eight digs, three aces, and one block. Those 81.8% hitting percentage gave Ekberg a new career-high.
They weren't the only good servers: McGavock was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 31 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cane Ridge came up short against Overton on Thursday and fell 3-1. While the Ravens didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 25-10 in the first set.
Cane Ridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-12.
McGavock's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Cane Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything went McGavock's way against Cane Ridge in their previous matchup back in September, as McGavock made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
