The Hueytown Golden Gophers pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuscaloosa County. Hueytown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hueytown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Na?kyrie Tolbert, who scored 25 points along with two steals, and Joy Minniefield who scored 22 points.
Hueytown's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Tuscaloosa County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-12.
Hueytown will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Brookwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Golden Gophers are ranked 163rd). As for Tuscaloosa County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
