Hudsonville and Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. Hudsonville will be playing in front of their home fans against Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hudsonville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Hudsonville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Michigan's top teams: Sterling Heights Stevenson, who was ranked 14th at the time (Hudsonville was ranked 13th). The Eagles never let the Titans get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dax Rossin looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Caeden Kennedy and Kaden Howard did most of the damage at the plate: Kennedy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Howard got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Harrison Phillips was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hudsonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sterling Heights Stevenson only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Forest Hills Northern. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in April.
Hudsonville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Hudsonville beat Christian 8-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Does Hudsonville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
