The Fabens Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Fort Hancock, falling 62-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fabens in their matchups with Fort Hancock: they've now lost four in a row.
Emmanuel Herrera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fort Hancock, scoring 27 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Herrera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Hernandez, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Fabens' defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-16. As for Fort Hancock, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.
Fabens' road trip will continue as they head out to face San Elizario at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. San Elizario will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Fort Hancock, they will be playing at home against Job Corps at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
