It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Weddington had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the South Mecklenburg Sabres a 2-0 shutout. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Sabres walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Weddington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for South Mecklenburg, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-11 record.

Looking ahead, Weddington will square off against Providence on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.7, the Panthers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. South Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
