Stonington is 2-8 against Ledyard since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bears will head out to take on the Colonels at 11:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Stonington gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Bacon Academy with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Bears not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2025 (when they won 7-1).

Ainslie Zagol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ari Scavello, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Zagol, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Ledyard, as they earned their first away win of the season. Everything went their way against Griswold on Thursday as they made off with a 10-2 victory.
Alexia Lemmon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Faith Dalton and Julia Bonser did most of the damage at the plate: Dalton went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Bonser went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Dalton has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Mia Starling, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Ledyard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Griswold only managed six.
Ledyard's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Stonington, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Stonington came up short against Ledyard when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 7-2. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
