The Holston Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Twin Springs Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Holston hadn't beaten Grayson County on the road since April 11, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Cavaliers blew past the Blue Devils 7-1.

Rily Cobler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Haleigh Dutton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Katie Remine was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Holston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twin Springs). They never let Honaker get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Holston, Twin Springs also got a great game from a two-way player: Makenzie Gillenwater. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Gillenwater was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Meade, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Guevara, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Holston's record now sits at 3-0. As for Twin Springs, their record is now 3-1.
Everything went Holston's way against Twin Springs in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Holston made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
