For the second straight game, Rudder will face off against Montgomery. The Rangers will welcome the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rudder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Rudder fell victim to Montgomery and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rangers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Montgomery's part, they got a great performance from Cason Irwin as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Irwin a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Wyatt Clewett was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Grant Richardson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rudder only posted a batting average of .208.

Montgomery is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rudder, they dropped their record down to 11-7-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rudder has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Montgomery struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
