It was a good run, but the Lincoln North Star Navigators unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 84-65 bruising from Lincoln Southwest. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), Lincoln North Star still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Lincoln North Star still got an impressive performance from Lazerek Houston, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Houston has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Castor, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Braden Frager, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds for Lincoln Southwest. Bj Bradford was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lincoln North Star's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Lincoln Southwest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln North Star will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lincoln Southeast at 7:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Lincoln Southwest, they will face off against Kearney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
