Football Game Preview: Kettle Run Cougars vs. Liberty Christian Bulldogs

The Kettle Run Cougars will square off against the Liberty Christian Bulldogs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated (Kettle Run has 15 wins , while Liberty Christian has 27 dating back to last season).

Kettle Run is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lafayette with a sharp 27-7 victory. Considering the Cougars have won ten games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kettle Run didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dycen Tapscott and Zach Roth. What's more, Tapscott also racked up four total tackles, the most he's had since back in October.

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian humbled William Byrd with a 49-14 victory. The Bulldogs is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Saturday was the ten matchup they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Kettle Run better keep an eye on Gideon Davidson. He was instrumental in Liberty Christian's win, rushing for 116 yards on only 15 carries. Davidson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 116 rushing yards.

Liberty Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in 26 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Liberty Christian's defense and their four sacks. Easton Ware was especially locked on to William Byrd's QB and sacked him twice. The game marked Ware's first with multiple sacks this season.

Liberty Christian's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.9 points. As for Kettle Run, their record now sits at 15-0.
