The Gary Bobcats's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Beckville. The win was just what Gary needed coming off of a 52-18 defeat in their prior match.
Beckville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayanna Burroughs, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Flanagan, who scored 11 points.
Gary's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Beckville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Gary will look to defend their home court on Friday against Joaquin at 6:00 p.m. Joaquin is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Beckville, they will head out on the road to challenge Tenaha at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tenaha presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Beckville in Texas (Tenaha is ranked 73rd, while Beckville is ranked 1236th).
