Valley Mission recap Nov. 7, 2012
Van Nuys extended the longest winning streak in Valley Mission this week by beating Reseda, 44-34. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Kennedy moved up to 814 from 846 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of beating Panorama 41-18.
Canoga Park's dynamic duo of Alex Dion and Khyree Morgan proved tough for Grant to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dion threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns and Morgan had 124 yards receiving. Davion McBrier helped Canoga Park's passing attack out by catching three balls for 63 yards.
Kyle Jean was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 151 yards as Van Nuys beat the Lancers. Luis Cruz also contributed to the rushing game with 90 yards on the ground.
San Fernando's Cris Solano and JOSE CAMARGO have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Valley Mission in both passing and receiving yards. Solano has thrown for 1905 yards this season, while CAMARGO, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 36 catches for 651 yards. Sean Pollard's team's Jean leads the league in rushing yards with 1763.
Canoga Park's Dion is within 146 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against University. So far this year, Dion has thrown for 1854 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Pinwatana Johnny has rushed for 995 yards on 105 carries so far this year.
Ivan Moreno's team took down Grant 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dion ran for 24 yards in the win.
