1A District 7 recap October 1, 2013
Chiefland moved up to 123 from 163 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 7. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of topping West Nassau 31-7.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Union County beat Hamilton County 35-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Fightin' Tigers.
Daquin Edwards provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Union County defeated the Trojans.
Shaquille Patterson put up the best numbers in passing as Chiefland defeated the Warriors. He had a total of 3 completions for 13 yards. Patterson's favorite target this week was Deshawn Roland, who caught 2 passes for 10 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Monte Seabrook. The Newberry star has 14 catches for 225 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Union County takes on second place Dixie County.
Ronny Pruitt's team took down Hamilton County 35-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Edwards ran for 150 yards and caught 1 pass for 10 yards during the win.
