South Harrison is 1-9 against Doddridge County since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. South Harrison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
South Harrison is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Braxton County get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the game before.

The result came thanks to Ava Louk's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, South Harrison got a massive performance out of Emily Squires, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Myers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: South Harrison lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.
Doddridge County had taken Ritchie County down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 8-3 to the Rebels. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Tessa Mayle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Doddridge County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia See, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
South Harrison's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Doddridge County, their loss dropped their record down to 24-6.
South Harrison might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from Doddridge County in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
