Stratford and Bunnell are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will challenge the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Stratford took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Westhill as they made off with a 14-2 win.
Stratford got a great performance from Morgan Letizia as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Shyan Rolle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Rolle is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Leimgruber, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bunnell). They had just enough and edged out Windsor 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since May 6, 2024.
Shea Toth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elisa Cabrera, who went 3-for-4 with one home run. Sydney Sedlock also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Bunnell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Bunnell's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Stratford, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Stratford's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Red Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bunnell, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Stratford continue to outrun the ball?
Stratford was able to grind out a solid victory over Bunnell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 10-6. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
