The Peyton Panthers will face off against the Crowley County Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Peyton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Peyton barely beat Simla the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Cubs on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Zayden Ebbert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Peyton is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Ebbert was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Bryce Love was incredible, going 4-for-6 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Peyton's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 5-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Tai Kapu was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Peyton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Crowley County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Hoehne 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won four in a row.
Like Peyton, Crowley County also got a great game from a two-way player: Tanner Kuhn. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kuhn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Krew Karney, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack King, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Peyton's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Crowley County, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Peyton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Crowley County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Peyton's way against Crowley County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Peyton made off with an 11-4 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
