It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but NSU University ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Nova Titans 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Mark Manuel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other pitching news, Aidan Jacobs looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Devin Mila was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Bradyn Potter was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
NSU University's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Nova, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
