AAAA Region V recap Oct. 3, 2012
White Knoll extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region V this week by beating Spring Valley, 30-17. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Lexington's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Will Hunter threw for 337 and four touchdowns and Keelo Norris had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Grayson Chumley chipped in 86 yards. Bryson Stokes helped Lexington's passing attack out by catching five balls for 84 yards.
Lexington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter has thrown for 1320 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Altyree Walker has 22 catches for 401 yards. Chumley leads the league in rushing with 545 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Aiken takes on White Knoll. As it stands, the Fighting Green Hornets are in fifth, while Gordon Walters's team is in first.
South Aiken made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,533 from 7,117.
