The Meridian Bobcats just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Vienna Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Meridian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Vienna is ranked 111th).
Century typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Meridian proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Centurions with a 45-39 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Meridian.
Meanwhile, Vienna waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Herrin by a score of 61-51.
Meridian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Vienna, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
Meridian was dealt a bruising 63-22 loss at the hands of Vienna when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Meridian, Macie Dalton (who scored 14 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
