Immanuel hasn't had much luck against Chowchilla recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome the Tribe at 6:30 p.m. Immanuel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Immanuel's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Kingsburg hitters got past them. The Eagles came up short against the Vikings on Tuesday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 17, 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chowchilla, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Sierra a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Brianna Guardado's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lexyss Sabin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Hadley Ray, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Sabin wasn't the only one making solid contact: Chowchilla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Tribe are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Chowchilla pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Immanuel, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-2.
