The Ash Fork Spartans struggled with assists on Thursday (the Williams Vikings had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Ash Fork was beaten by the Vikings 57-30. If Ash Fork was looking for revenge after losing 40-33 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Leading Williams to victory were Kai Mortensen and Braydyn Larimore. Mortensen scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Larimore scored 17 points along with four steals. Larimore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Vazquez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Ash Fork has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for Williams, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-10.
Ash Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Williams will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Cougars at 8:00 a.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Rock Point is ranked 170th, while the Vikings are ranked 172nd).
