Dora is 8-2 against Curry since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Grayson Stephenson and Gage Hogland did some serious damage despite the final result: Stephenson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hogland went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Stephenson has become a key player for Dora: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Curry can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Danville by a score of 10-7.
Kam Miles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Dunagan, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Price, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Curry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Curry's win bumped their record up to 4-21. As for Dora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
Curry's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Curry, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Dora's hitters?
