After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Long Reach, the Joppatowne Mariners were happy to have found some success on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 victory over Fallston. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Joppatowne can attribute much of their success to Calil Thorne, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Thorne set a new season high mark in steals with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Kishann Smith, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Joppatowne now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fallston, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Joppatowne will be playing at home against Bel Air at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bel Air is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Fallston, they will head out on the road to face off against North Harford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. North Harford is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
