The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 54-47 victory over Christian Heritage Academy on Tuesday. The win was just what Timberlake Christian needed coming off of a 79-51 defeat in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timberlake Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sawyer Epps, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Howe, who scored 11 points.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brodey Oakes, who scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oakes has scored all season. Luke Mason was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Christian Heritage Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Timberlake Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Timberlake Christian will take on Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Faith Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they will be playing at home against King's Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Christian Heritage Academy is ranked 427th, while King's Christian Academy is ranked 441st).
