The Barr-Reeve Vikings came tearing into Friday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Loogootee out 43-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Barr-Reeve has posted yet this season.
Seth Wagler was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points. Kendall Graber was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Barr-Reeve pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Loogootee, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barr-Reeve will take on Wood Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Wood Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 86th). As for Loogootee, they will be playing at home against Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
