Langley has gone 9-1 against George C. Marshall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Saxons will square off against the Statesmen at 6:30 p.m. Langley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so George C. Marshall's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Langley will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Washington-Liberty on Tuesday. The Saxons blew past the Generals 10-1. Considering the Saxons have won three games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Norah Jacques made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlin Hohenthaner, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ali Glantzis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, George C. Marshall hadn't done well against Yorktown recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Statesmen came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Statesmen.
Helen Kluesener spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Lindsey Manifor was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikka Christensen, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
George C. Marshall pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Langley, they moved to 6-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Langley took their win against George C. Marshall in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saxons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
