The Oglethorpe County Patriots will play host again and welcome the Jasper County Hurricanes, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oglethorpe County, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Oglethorpe County didn't have too much trouble with Prince Avenue Christian at home as they won 61-42. Given Oglethorpe County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Prince Avenue Christian is ranked 447th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jasper County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Social Circle 54-50.
Oglethorpe County pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Jasper County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Everything went Oglethorpe County's way against Jasper County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Oglethorpe County made off with a 67-45 victory. With Oglethorpe County ahead 36-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
