The Hoopa Valley Warriors waltzed into their match Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 51-45 W over Ferndale. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hoopa Valley also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Hoopa Valley found their leader in underclassman Neil Moon, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Romero, who scored ten points.
Ferndale's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Prescott Langer, who scored 17 points, and Thomas Fergison who scored 14 points. Langer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Hoopa Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Ferndale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Hoopa Valley will head out on the road to face off against Del Norte at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Norte is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Ferndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hayfork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hayfork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Ferndale likes a good challenge.
