Volleyball Recap: Whitko Has No Trouble Against Lewis Cass

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Churubusco, Whitko was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lewis Cass Kings. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Whitko never let Lewis Cass on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-22.

Whitko's offense was headlined by Meredith Hindbaugh and Audrey Watmough, who picked up eight kills apiece. Watmough really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. Hindbaugh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Lewis Cass still got an impressive performance from Lauren Tocco, who had 20 digs and six aces. Tocco has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

The victory got Whitko back to even at 2-2. As for Lewis Cass, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Whitko wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Westview on the 30th. As for Lewis Cass, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Rochester on the 2nd.
