If the Loogootee Lions were feeling good off their 72-25 takedown of the Vincennes Rivet Patriots last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Loogootee fell just short of Barr-Reeve by a score of 43-41. It was the first time this season that Loogootee let down their fans at home.
Seth Wagler was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points for Barr-Reeve. Another player making a difference was Kendall Graber, who scored nine points.
Loogootee's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5. As for Barr-Reeve, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loogootee will take on Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wood Memorial at 8:00 p.m. Wood Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 86th).
