Kenston Forest's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dayton Williams Jr, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, and Anderson Allen, who scored 24 points along with five assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Williams Jr posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Ben Hite, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southampton Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 50-20 win over Amelia Academy.
Southampton Academy found their leader in underclassman G Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Applewhite is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games he's played. J Holland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Kenston Forest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Southampton Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Kenston Forest have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southampton Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
