Olympian has gone a perfect 4-0 against Sweetwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will host the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m.
Olympian couldn't beat Mira Mesa on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Eagles fell 9-6 to the Marauders. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Gabriella Mendiola was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was NiKayla Flowers, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Sweetwater gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Chula Vista. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.
Gabriella Sena was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other pitching news, Sweetwater got a great performance from Neylea Rivera as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Ariana Tovar was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Romero, who went 1-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Sweetwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Olympian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-2.
Olympian got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 against Sweetwater by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
