Basketball Recap: Edmund Burke Academy Skates Past Lincoln County with Ease

Edmund Burke Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Lincoln County Red Devils for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-25 victory. The Spartans pushed the score to 39-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils had little chance of recovering from.

Edmund Burke Academy was led to victory by Lexie Mcnair and Leila Eastmead. Mcnair shot 43% from the field on her way to 20 points along with six boards and five assists, while Eastmead dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Those five assists gave Mcnair a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Edmund Burke Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Edmund Burke Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lincoln County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Edmund Burke Academy is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Thomas Jefferson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Lincoln County, they will challenge Athens Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
