The third road contest was the charm for the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans, as they earned their first road win of the season. They claimed a resounding 74-42 win over West Prairie on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Garrett Vincent was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashtin Staley, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, West Prairie still got an impressive performance from Andrew Hunt, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli DeCounter, who scored 6 points.
Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for West Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will head out on the road to face off against Knoxville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Knoxville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for West Prairie, they will square off against Biggsville West Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Biggsville West Central is ranked 697th, while West Prairie is ranked 696th).
