Colby Barnhill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Tee Bohne was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Community Christian's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Tyler Spivey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
The win got Community Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
