The Manvel Mavericks will take on the Dawson Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manvel will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Manvel made easy work of Fort Bend Kempner and carried off a 13-3 win. Considering the Mavericks have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Jimenez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Jesus Merlo looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Manvel got a big performance out of Alexis Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Garcia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Tuiasosopo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Dawson unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 7-4 to Alvin.
Bennett Schnee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits.
On the hitting side, Maddox Botas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jack Dyment, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Manvel is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Dawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
Manvel might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Dawson in their previous matchup back in March of 2020. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
