The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oak Grove in their matchups with Sterlington: they've now lost three in a row.
Cooper Nelson was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with three steals for Sterlington. The contest was Nelson's 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khristian Johnson , who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Oak Grove bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Sterlington, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.
Oak Grove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mangham at 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. As for Sterlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Castor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
