Franklin has gone 9-1 against Monterey Trail recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wildcats will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Franklin will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Cosumnes Oaks on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Wolfpack.

Drew Towne looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Leah Pham was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kalani Phearson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Monterey Trail came up short against Laguna Creek on Monday, falling 12-2.
Monterey Trail saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aniyah Whipper, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Monterey Trail, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16.
Franklin skirted past Monterey Trail 8-7 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
