With a playoff game on the line, the Imagine Prep Storm rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by El Dorado at home to the tune of 44-6. The victory was familiar territory for Imagine Prep who now have seven in a row.
Imagine Prep had a senior duo take command as Bryce Pollay rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry and Drayke Woolsey rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Pollay is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Imagine Prep's defense and their ten sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Imagine Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-4 South Pointe and 3-4 Imagine Prep Superstition (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for El Dorado, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Imagine Prep will face off against Heritage Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Heritage Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. El Dorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
