Baseball Recap: Grainger Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grainger came into Saturday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals on Saturday.

Josh Walker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashton Taylor, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Walker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Grainger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Grainger's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grainger will welcome Volunteer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Rockwood at 5:30 p.m.
